Man, after not drawing AT ALL for 5 weeks........... I despair at what my art skills have become.

Well, I've changed a lot of her face.... such as getting rid of most of the ugly triangles on the front and making nice loops XD.

But the more I look at the whole body, the uglier it seems to be, for some odd reason XD. Anyway, I may tweak some little bits but I'd like to start texturing it soon.

Last night, I thought I'd try a new kind of painterly style. I decided to limit myself to only using short, staccato brush strokes, painting on just one layer. This really took me out of my comfort zone as I was used to have a different layer with the lineart on top so that it would guide me to place the colours using long, smooth brush strokes, however I quite enjoyed it. I guess the result turned out ok. Constructive criticism is welcome.

Still madly obsessed with V for Vendetta, lol XD.

This is the 3D model so far... still got several parts to fix (omg the area around his chin is a mess), and I look forward to texturing it.

Well...... that FF10 obsession didn't last very long o_O. Before I could even start colouring my Auron fanart, V flashed into the scene and killed him on the spot... man, I loved the book but the film was just meh.

I wasn't really sure how to depict V at first, but in the end I do like the final idea that I came up with. Though the lighting is probably questionable.
 

( And here's a sneak peak of my Auron fanart........ hmmn.... not sure if I should finish it or not... V sure did brutally murder him, with his knives and his fancy karate gimmicks... )

I sat at the back row lab computers and painted this while the 2nd Years were doing their assessment presentations... >_> Took about 3 hours. It was very enjoyable ^_^.

Some stuff I've been doing on and off over the past couple of months:

Random seaweed woman creature thing. Random like the random umbrella in RotK which magically appeared out of nowhere. Luuulz.

So, back in October my art tutor at university told us to paint the canal.



Now, 6 months later... he told us to paint the canal again.



Perspective is a little off, but I see a small improvement ^_^. I can also draw and paint a LOT quicker now. The first pic took me 2-3 days, the 2nd pic took me just an afternoon.

Now onto sculpting.... *dies*.

Aww man, I just realized how depressing it is when you don't have a rubber! I was going to do some uni work but couldn't continue without any rubbers.... so I thought I'd do some anatomy studies.... then realized that I couldn't do that either. So I thought, maybe I could cheer myself up by doing random quick sketches...................... but now I can't do those either!

Aaargh my rubbers are all gone...... I lent my last one to a friend in life-drawing class today but he forgot to return it.... -___-

I was so tired during the lecture yesterday and needed a break from all the 3D modelling that we were learning, so I quickly drew this in a friend's sketchbook... and rather liked it, therefore I decided to colour it. Ahem.

Another attempt at creating a person. It went much better than I had expected, but tis still rubbish lol. The proportions aren't right... Oh and, I screwed up his right buttock a bit.

The lights dimmed as the audience finished their round of applause. The velvet curtains parted, revealing a colossal stage with a single spotlight shining down on one solitary figure. The performer stood deathly still with a long cloak down to her barefeet, not a single muscle moving. Then, with one sweeping motion, she elegantly lifted away the cloak, revealing a body of silk.

Heh, probably the weirdest thing I've created in awhile. It's for a university project, and the brief was to simply "create an interesting character". Is mine interesting? XD

This was fun! I still have LOAAADDSSS to do on this one. The tree looks so retarded, lol. I need to make a larger variety branches and stick them on it...... but anyway, this is part of the playground that's near my university halls. I'm going to add more trees, some paths, and another larger play area next to it. Then I'll... try to texture it.... haha.... *dies*.





Question for anyone who knows... in the first pic , why are the alpha fences on the other side not showing up? And how do I make the shadows go through the gap of the fences...?

Arf man, I don't have time to do personal art but I reeeaaaallyyyyyyy needed to get this out of my system, so I did a quick speedpaint of my favourite DW characters Zhang Liao and Xiahou Dun in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" style outfits. I had to make up Zhang Liao's hair because he always wears a large helmet which covers up most of his head in the game lol.

To be honest, I started off drawing emo angsty Xiahou Dun in a dark dark room wearing a modern day shirt looking out of the window and smoking a cigar......... but it ended up being like this instead XDDD.

Lol Xiahou Dun's arms are totally messed up...
